The Top Four Excuses Not To Finish Your Spring Cleaning
Just a few weeks ago, we provide a number of great tips that were designed to speed up your Spring cleaning chores. As we welcome in the warmer weather of May, it’s time to review and see just how much cleaning you actually accomplished during the dreary days of April. What’s that you say, you haven’t even started yet?! Don’t worry, you’re not alone! While we all have good intentions when it comes to Spring cleaning, very few of us actually stick to these convictions and actually get the job done quickly. So what’s your excuse? We polled the Toronto closet storage experts at California Closets and have come up with four of the most common excuses when it comes to Spring Cleaning – which one have you been using?
4) It’s too nice outside to spend my time inside cleaning.
While there were a few nice days last month, the vast majority of them were rainy, cool, and clammy. If you can’t find an excuse to clean in that kind of condition, how will you ever get the motivation to vacuum when it’s warm and sunny? As one of our Toronto closet designers noted, “The reality is, if you spring clean your home now, you will have more time to enjoy the outdoors later this spring.”
3) There’s just too much to do!
While it may seem overwhelming, chances are your Spring cleaning to-do list isn’t really that long. To make things easier, try tackling your tasks one room at a time. Trying to clean your entire home in one day isn’t realistic, or productive. Not only will you be exhausted by the end of it, you’ll likely do a lousy job as you rush from room to room. Our Toronto closet storage experts highly recommend taking things one room at a time in order to ensure a thorough clean.
2) I wasn’t the one who made it messy.
While this might be true, it’s not a good enough reason to boycott Spring cleaning altogether. Whether you share your Toronto apartment with roommates or have a couple of teenagers to take care of, keeping an entire house clutter-free and clean is tough. Instead of constantly cleaning up after your fellow housemates, get together and create a plan that will help eliminate clutter once and for all. Investing in a Toronto closet organization system, or installing a custom shelving unit could be money well spent if it means you spend less time bickering over who’s responsible for the latest mess.
1) It will just get dirty again.
Oh, if only I had a nickel for every time I heard that little ditty! Spring cleaning isn’t just about removing dirt from your home, it’s also about reorganizing your space in order to improve your day to day life. Spring cleaning is the perfect time to consider installing a new Toronto closet organizer or custom closet system. Then, once you’ve completed your seasonal cleaning, you’ll have the systems in place help ensure that the mess doesn’t come back!
